Overview

Closing is where ownership officially transfers and you get the keys to your new home. In Alabama, closings are typically handled by an attorney.

Behind the Scenes

  • The attorney prepares legal documents, confirms clear title, and records the deed.

  • They disburse funds — paying off the seller’s mortgage, liens, and distributing commissions.

  • Once funds are received and the deed is recorded, you’re the legal owner.
