Trust Matters More Than Any House
If you ask me what matters most in my business, the answer isn't sales.
It isn't closings.
It isn't awards.
It's trust.
Trust, loyalty, and communication have always been the foundation of how I do business.
When someone calls me about buying or selling a home, I don't look at them as a transaction. I look at them as a person who is trusting me to help guide them through one of the biggest financial decisions of their life.
That's a responsibility I take seriously.
As agents, we're often told not to get emotionally involved. I understand why. Real estate can be emotional enough without carrying every client's stress home with you.
But the truth is, it's hard not to care when your job is to protect people.
It's hard not to care when you're helping a young couple buy their first home.
It's hard not to care when you're helping someone sell a home filled with memories.
It's hard not to care when a past client calls years later and asks for your help again.
And it's especially hard not to care when a client trusts you enough to send their family, friends, children, or parents your way.
Those referrals mean more to me than most people realize.
When someone refers me, they aren't just recommending a Realtor. They're trusting me with people they care about. They're putting their own reputation on the line and saying, "I trust Nicole to take care of you."
I never take that lightly.
One of the things I've learned over the years is that trust isn't something that exists on day one.
I don't expect someone who just met me to immediately trust me with one of the largest decisions they'll ever make.
Trust is earned.
It's earned through communication.
It's earned through consistency.
It's earned by showing up when you say you're going to show up.
It's earned by being honest.
It's earned by doing what you say you're going to do.
Usually within a few weeks, my clients know exactly who I am. They know where my loyalty is, how I communicate, and what I stand for.
And if someone doesn't trust me, I'd rather we simply not work together.
And if someone truly doesn't feel like they can trust me, I would rather us figure that out early than spend months trying to force a working relationship that doesn't feel right.
Because I don't believe it's in anyone's best interest to work with someone they don't trust.
The best real estate relationships are built on mutual respect, honest communication, and trust.
The contracts matter.
The negotiations matter.
The houses matter.
But at the end of the day, those things eventually come and go.
The relationships don't.
Years from now, I probably won't remember every square foot number, every paint color, or every appliance package.
But I will remember the people.
I'll remember the families.
I'll remember the conversations.
And I'll remember the trust they placed in me.
That's what matters most to me.
And that's the kind of business I hope to keep building for many years to come.
